1862 Liberty Eagle, AU53
Elusive Low-Mintage Issue
1862 $10 AU53 NGC. A meager mintage of 10,995 Liberty eagles
was struck in 1862, certainly a small total in absolute terms, but
about average in the context of the series. This AU53 example shows
a trace of wear on the hair and coronet but the pleasing
orange-gold surfaces are lightly abraded and the overall
presentation is quite attractive. Census: 16 in 53, 33 finer
