MOnЄT' • nO' | FRΛ'CFORD' (mullet stops), St. John the Baptist, mantled and nimbate, standing facing, right hand pointing to lamb held in his left; half moon with face between his feet / +SIGISMV'D' • RO' • nORVM • RЄX (mullet stops), globus within quadrilobe, flowers in spandrels. A beautiful presentation of this high Medieval gold issue, perfectly pairing an ideal strike with superb technical preservation.
