Description
1884-CC Eagle, AU55
Lovely White-Gold Example
1884-CC $10 AU55 NGC. Winter 1-A. Light, white-gold surfaces
contain ample luster, especially near the periphery, and few
abrasions. Several die lines extend down from the ear and lowest
curl, which are found on all known examples of this single die
marriage issue. The mintage of 9,925 coins represented a large
decline from 1883's production of 12,000, though both were above
1882's mintage of 6,764. After this, Carson City skipped eagle
production in 1885 and 1889 (the mint was closed from 1886-8),
making 1890 the next issue.(Registry values: N2998)From The Rockhampton Collection.
