Philadelphia's First Coinage

1793 1C Chain, AMERI., S-1, B-1, R.4, AG3 PCGS. CAC. The Chain AMERI. cents, identified as Sheldon-1, were the first circulation-strike coins minted at the Philadelphia Mint, and for that reason they are historic collector favorites. While well-worn, this example has pleasing medium brown surfaces. The slight roughness is unconcerning to PCGS and CAC. CAC: 2 in 3, 12 finer (2/25).
