Description

George III Counterstamped Bank Dollar of 5 Shillings ND (1799-1804) XF40 NGC, KM656, S-3766. Host: Mexico Charles IV 8 Reales 1801 Mo-FT (cf. KM109); Counterstamp: Type II octagonal bust of George III (XF Standard). An always collectible 5 Shilling type with popular octagonal countermark, struck on a Charles IV 8 Reales 1801 Mo-FT; much more infrequently encountered than the oval mark which we handle with greater regularity. Moderately handled and exhibiting even, honest wear throughout, we expect fervent bidding consistent with recent trends for the type.

Metal: Silver
