Description

George III Crown 1819 MS61 NGC, KM675, S-3787. LIX edge. A wonderful example of the early work of noted engraver Pistrucci, for which he is best known for his reverse of St. George slaying the dragon, first utilized on Sovereign and Crown coinage two years prior. The present specimen possesses an allover deep slate patination tinged by an undercurrent of nacreous iridescence while the devices remain especially crisp and fully rendered upon this Mint State specimen.
