Description

1820/19 N-3 Large Cent, MS64 Brown
From the Twin Leaf Collection

1820/19 1C N-3, R.2, MS64 Brown PCGS. CAC. Ex: Twin Leaf Collection. A lovely example of the Guide Book-listed overdate variety, this piece has strong central design definition. The peripheral areas a blunt as usual, although the overdate feature is strong. Both sides have lustrous and frosty olive-brown surfaces with splashes of sky-blue toning on the obverse. Mint red color is noted on both sides and particularly on the reverse. Scattered marks are inconsequential. This Choice Mint State cent is ranked ninth in the Noyes condition census, photo #34072.
Ex: Chris Victor-McCawley; John Kraljevich; Gary Ruttenberg (McCawley and Grellman, 8/1995), lot 208; Manuel Ahumada; Chris Victor-McCawley (9/1997); W.M. "Jack" Wadlington; Twin Leaf Collection (Stack's Bowers, 7/2015), lot 2068.
