Double Struck 1795 S-78 Cent
1795 1C Plain Edge, Double Struck--Corroded--ANACS. VF20 Details. S-78, B-8, R.1. Although the surfaces are dark steel with lighter tan on the devices, exhibiting moderate corrosion on both sides, the double strike trumps the quality. Doubling is visible on both sides, the first strike centered and the second strike approximately 10% off center toward 10 o'clock. We could use a lot of words to describe this piece, or we could simply suggest examination of the picture, and the coin if possible.
