Description

1854-O Arrows Dime, MS65
A Rarity in This Condition

1854-O 10C Arrows, F-101, R.3, MS65 PCGS. The 54 in the date do not touch, and the 1 is weak on the left base and flag. This piece is in an early die state of the variety, showing no crack at the F in OF. A small planchet lamination is visible at the final A in AMERICA. A hint of champagne toning graces otherwise brilliant, softly frosted surfaces, and small areas of polished reflectivity appear near the date and in the lower port of the shield. The design elements are sharp, and neither side exhibits abrasions. Population: 9 in 65, 2 finer. CAC: 1 in 65, 2 finer (2/18).
Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2005), lot 6119; Central States Signature (Heritage, 4/2014), lot 4112.
