Brilliant With Blue-Gray Shadings

1857 10C MS66 PCGS. Fortin-Unlisted. Fortin writes: "With a mintage in excessive [sic] of 5 million pieces, I would expect more obverse dies to be identified." Here is such a coin, with the date position corresponding to 1C on his ruler. Clash marks occur between ME in DIME. Thin blue-gray shadings complement the mostly brilliant and frosted surfaces of this bold Premium Gem. We can only find two ticks on the cheek and leg. Population (all varieties): 9 in 66 (2 in 66+), 1 finer (3/18).(Registry values: N1)
