Description

1879-CC Morgan Dollar, MS64
Low-Mintage Carson City Key

1879-CC $1 MS64 PCGS. CAC. Normal Mintmark. A combination of political subterfuge and greedy mine owners contributed to a bullion shortage at the Carson City Mint in 1879, resulting in a small mintage of just 756,000 Morgan dollars. This impressive Choice example exhibits well-detailed design elements, with just a trace of the usual blending on the hair above the ear. The lightly marked, lustrous surfaces show some prooflike reflectivity in the fields.(Registry values: P7, N2998)
