20 Lire Gold Rarity in Premium Gem

Vittorio Emanuele III gold 20 Lire 1927-R MS66 NGC, Rome mint, KM48, Fr-28 (Rare), Pagani-669 (R4). By L. Giorgi. Mintage: 30. A spectacular 20th Century Italian rarity, produced from a staggeringly low mintage of 30 coins. We are proud to offer here the finest certified example known to NGC, and though there is also a single MS66 that is PCGS graded, this is certainly one of the finest extant examples worldwide, slabbed or not. Presenting with incredible, luxurious satin smoothness that is only accentuated by the great preservation that yields only a few instances of surface contact. Upon closer inspection, the expanses reveal evidence of die polish and are quite distinct from the devices, resulting in a subtle flash that is welcome on an issue that exudes mostly satin brilliance. A rare and significant opportunity for Italian numismatists to compete for a "Top Pop" specimen of such renowned rarity.
