Description

Carol I gold 25 Lei 1906 MS64+ NGC, Brussels mint, KM38, Schäffer/Stambuliu-65. Mintage: 24,000. Struck to commemorate Carol's 40th anniversary of reign. An outlier of an already scarce series at Mint State, besting even the Carpathian example we sold in August, with the majority of those witnessed at our sales at or just shy of a Choice assignment. On offer is a virtual Gem selection benefitting from a firm strike that yields nearly full expression of the devices throughout, while bolstered by notable die polish and flash. Currently the sole finest certified and certain to pique the interest of engaged bidders.
