1864 Small Motto Two Cent, MS65
Satiny Red and Brown Surfaces
1864 2C Small Motto, FS-401, MS65 Red and Brown NGC. CAC.
This Gem is sharp and satiny with no major abrasions. Undertones of
copper-gold luster appear in the fields on each side, although
chestnut-brown and olive toning is slightly more dominant. The
Small Motto variety is a key to the two cent series and is elusive
in MS65. CAC-approved in a prior generation holder. Census: 53 in
65 (1 in 65+) Red and Brown, 15 finer; 16 in 65 Red, 6 finer. CAC:
30 in 65, 3 finer (1/18).Coin Index Numbers: (Variety PCGS# 38233, Base PCGS# 3580, Greysheet# 377849)
