Description

N.M. Rothschild & Sons gold 10 Tolas Bar ND (19th-20th Century) XF, Ahlers-700, pg. 92, Fig. 84 (R2). 75x10mm. 116.67gm. Obverse stamped N.M. ROTHSCHILD & SONS LONDON in arch above the fineness, stamped as 996 FINE. A fascinating type and the first "finger" 10 Tolas seemingly brought to public auction in recent decades, whose likely original purpose was for overseas trade in the Asian market due to its weight outside of western convention. A more uncommon specimen than its troy ounce or gram counterparts which we have previously handled, and we imagine this piece to be especially coveted by collectors of these early and important gold ingots.

Metal: Gold
Diameter: 75mm
