Description

1882-O Ten Dollar, MS61
Condition Census Candidate

1882-O $10 MS61 PCGS. Variety 1. The New Orleans Mint produced a mere 10,820 eagles in 1882, yet that small mintage is the second-most available O-mint ten dollar from the 1880s. Only the 1888-O is seen more often. In Mint State, the 1882-O remains a formidable rarity. No more than half a dozen pieces exist in higher Uncirculated grades than this example at both PCGS and NGC combined. This MS61 coin is a lightly abraded Mint State beauty, with deep orange-gold color and a crisp strike. Scattered small marks determine the assigned grade. Population: 15 in 61, 4 finer (5/23).(Registry values: N4719)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2664, PCGS# 8697, Greysheet# 9498)

Weight: 16.72 grams
