1908 $10 No Motto MS65 NGC. The 1908 No Motto Indian eagle boasts a small mintage of only 33,500 coins, and is a conditionally elusive issue in high grade. Most Uncirculated examples grade no finer than MS63, and the issue is notably rare finer than MS65. The present Gem example displays a bold strike and satiny autumn-gold luster with strong cartwheel bands. Eye appeal is excellent. A loupe reveals minor field marks that prevent a finer grade, but none are individually bothersome. The last MS65 example of this issue that we handled appeared three years ago in our June 2020 Long Beach Signature. Census: 30 in 65 (1 in 65+), 22 finer (5/23).(Registry values: N4719)
