Description
1909-D Ten Dollar, MS65
Rarely Offered This Fine
1909-D $10 MS65 NGC. The vast majority of known 1909-D
Indian eagles grade in the middle and upper AU range or in the low
end of Mint State between MS61 and MS63 inclusive. This issue is
decidedly scarce any finer, and Gem or better examples are notably
rare. The current coin is near the Condition Census, and it is the
first example in this grade that we have handled in nearly four
years. Satiny wheat-gold luster adorns boldly struck design
elements, and there is a vibrant cartwheel effect around each side.
A small cluster of field marks in the right reverse margin prevents
a finer grade. Census: 6 in 65, 4 finer (5/23).(Registry values: N7079)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28GN, PCGS# 8863, Greysheet# 9762)
Weight: 16.72 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
