Description

1863 Dime, Conditionally Rare MS65
Key Circulation Strike Issue

1863 10C F-101a, R.5, MS65 PCGS. CAC. Rare as a Civil War date, the 1863 brings stronger prices in circulation strike format than in proof. The two formats share the same dies, with different markers. Tiny die defects on ONE DIME help distinguish one format from the other. This Gem example is richly toned in reddish-tan, cobalt blue, and brown shades throughout both sides. The obverse strike is sharp, while the reverse shows slight weakness at the bow and wreath. Housed in an early generation light-blue label, barcode on the back, with CAC endorsement. Population: 9 in 65, 4 finer (11/18).

Coin Index Numbers: (Variety PCGS# 538200, Base PCGS# 4637)
