Description

1928 Twenty Dollar, MS67
Frosty Type Coin

1928 $20 MS67 NGC. The 1928 was the last Saint-Gaudens double eagle issue distributed in significant quantity at the time of its release. When Roosevelt's Gold Recall order of 1933 occurred, most of the 1929 and later productions were still housed in government vaults and were melted down. The 1928, by contrast, is plentiful in high grade today and an ideal type coin. This Superb Gem displays frosty orange-gold luster and well-struck design elements, with no bothersome abrasions.(Registry values: N4719)
