Description
Exquisite 1924 Twenty, MS67
1924 $20 MS67 PCGS. The 1924, with a mintage of more than 4 million examples, is believed to be the most common of the entire Saint-Gaudens double Eagle series. Evidently, virtually the entire issue was sent overseas for international banking transactions. Tens of thousands of coins have been certified through Premium Gem, after which the population drops off dramatically. Excellent luster is visible on the current MS67 specimen, and variegated orange-gold and mint-green patina dances over both sides. An exquisite strike manifests itself in bold delineation on the panes of the Capitol building, as well as on Liberty's facial features, the fingers of both hands, on the foot, and on the eagle's plumage. Impeccable preservation is noted throughout. Population: 71 in 67, 1 finer (10/06).From The Kutasi Collection.(Registry values: N4719)
