Description

An Amazing Bahia Dobra

João V gold 12800 Reis (Dobra) 1727-B MS62 NGC, Bahia mint, KM141 (Rare), LMB-85, Guimaraes-1727-5a. Second shield. Fleur-de-Lis over diagonal edge. First date of issue. The finest we have handled of the date, presenting precisely-struck surfaces with needle-point devices upon lustrous semi-glossy fields and radiant cartwheel luster. Though re-milled with the Fleur-de-Lis pattern, the edge has its original diagonal milling fairly apparent, adding to this piece's singular eye-appeal. The second finest graded by NGC, and far superior than the RLM AU Details example.
