USA Administration Peso 1911-S MS67 PCGS, San Francisco
mint, KM172, Allen-17.06. Among the most challenging issues across
the entire Philippines series to acquire in high grades, a fact
confirmed by the paucity of auction records past a Gem assignment,
with those in comparable preservations bringing truly awe-inspiring
sums. Truly superior in virtually every regard, whose glasslike
surfaces enliven upon illumination, revealing virtually no marks of
consequence; a perfect canvas for the myriad of tone throughout.
Emblazoned with the most stunning color palette, the deeper azure
and indigos percolating throughout the peripheries, while peach,
amber, and tangerine concentrates at the center. One of, if not the
finest Pesos this cataloger has yet witnessed, besting the three
previous Mahal examples, and with only a single occupant ranking
just a half-point finer, this is conceivably the finest that will
