ATTICA. Athens. 2nd-1st centuries BC. AR tetradrachm (35mm, 16.88 gm, 12h). NGC AU 4/5 - 4/5, die shift. New style coinage, 138/7 BC. Glau- and Eche-, magistrates. Head of Athena right wearing triple-crested Attic helmet ornamented with leaping Pegasus above upturned cheek guard, aphlaston on bowl, protomes of four horses above visor / A-ΘΕ / ΓΛ/AY-EXE, owl standing facing on amphora; draped and radiate facing bust of Helios in right field, M (12th month) on amphora, ΣΦ (engraver's initials) in left field, all within olive wreath.
