1815/2 O-101 Half Dollar, XF40
Popular Guide Book Overdate
1815/2 50C O-101, R.1, XF40 NGC. This is the early die state
of the 1815/2 overdate, showing no reverse die cracks, although
both sides are heavily clashed. The 2 underdigit is plainly visible
amid the 5 in the date with magnification. This is a Guide
Book variety and the only Overton die marriage for the year.
The mintage of 47,150 coins circulated extensively, making this
issue key to a date collection of Capped Bust halves. This XF coin
shows strong detail and uniform olive-gray patina. No major
