Description
Frosty 1911 Dragon Dollar at the Cusp of Gem Preservation
Hsüan-t'ung Dollar Year 3 (1911) MS64 NGC, Tientsin mint,
KM-Y31, L&M-37, Kann-227. No period, extra flame variety. A
serene and lustrous representative of this highly popular
single-year type that should easily turn heads by its sheer visual
impact. The exceptional surfaces remain entirely frost-white
throughout. Subtle rotation in light unleashes sweeping luster
across the fields, which, even in light of the impressive grade
assigned, appear essentially gem, with only minute and isolated
instances of contact limiting the technical grade. Though small
numbers of finer examples exist, this admirable selection may
easily be considered by the most advanced collectors of the Chinese
series.Metal: Silver
Diameter: 38.5mm
Weight: 26.9g
ASW: 0.7783oz
Mintage: 77,153,000
