Description

Edward III (1327-1377) gold Noble ND (1363-1369) MS63 NGC, Tower mint, Cross Potent mm, Treaty Period, S-1502, N-1231, Schneider-75 var. (punctuation). 7.69gm. (saltire) ЄD | WARD: DЄI: GRΛ: RЄX: ΛnGL: DnS: hyB x ? (retrograde) x AQ | T' (double saltire stops), crowned, standing figure of Edward standing facing in ship, sword in right hand, shield in left / + Ih'C: ΛVTЄm: TRΛnSIЄnS: PЄR: mЄDIV: ILLORVm: IBAT (double saltire stops), large floriate cross with Є at center, crowned lions in angles, all within polylobe with trefoils in spandrels. A coin which exhibits very fine die style and a plethora of bright luster, Edward's face remaining expressive and fully detailed. Not an issue which occurs with any regularity in Choice Mint State, NGC having certified just 4 others in this top-pop status for the subtype. Very nearly edging on a finer technical grade, and a representative that admits few flaws even to the scrupulous eye.

Metal: Gold
Diameter: 33mm
