1888 3CN MS67 PCGS. CAC. As the series came to a close, mintages dwindled to low levels. This issue, for example, is from a mintage of just 41,083 coins, a production that includes 4,582 proofs. Very seldom does a Superb business strike appear on the market. When numerically high quality examples do become available, they are usually proofs. Lustrous and sharply struck with medium tan-gray toning and immaculate surfaces. Population: 35 in 67, 1 finer (9/11).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2005), lot 5714, which realized $2,817.50.
