Description

Holland. Provincial gold Specimen Pattern 28 Stuivers 1694 SP58 PCGS, Dordrecht mint, KM71a, Delm-809 (R3), PW-Ho50.1, Vanhoudt/Saunders-1260. Struck to 5 Ducat weight. Exceedingly scarce with no more than a few auction appearances over the past couple of decades, and a type that always excites bidders regardless of preservation. A carmine blush adorns the peripherals, particularly on the beautiful reverse, which faces up especially fine and maintains the majority of a Mint State appeal despite the incredibly trivial friction to the highpoints. A centerpiece for even the most advanced Holland-themed cabinets.
