Description

1865 Half Dime, PR65+ Cameo
Iridescent Toning, Low-Mintage Date

1865 H10C PR65+ Cameo PCGS. CAC. Both proofs and business strikes of the 1865 half dime were struck from the same pair of dies. This is a popular and very scarce date with only 13,000 circulation strikes produced, thus placing extra date pressure on the proofs. This is an unquestioned proof as seen by the deeply mirrored fields and noticeably frosted devices, the cameo effect apparent even through the lovely iridescent toning seen over each side. Population: 5 in 65 (1 in 65+) Cameo, 7 finer (5/12).(Registry values: P2)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2362, PCGS# 84448, Greysheet# 3928)

Weight: 1.24 grams

Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
