1949 Booker T. Washington Half, MS67+
Finest Collectible Grade for the Issue
1949 50C Booker T. Washington MS67+ PCGS. CAC. The Booker T.
Washington commemorative half dollar series ran from 1946 to 1951.
The set contains a mix of issues including the plentiful 1946 P-D-S
coins, the 1950-S, and the 1951. The others have lower mintages. In
this case, only 6,004 examples of the 1949 were distributed.
Although they were well-saved by collectors, the issue is scarce in
MS67, rare in MS67+, and only a single PCGS-graded MS68 coin is
finer between the two major services combined. A hint of golden
toning complements the mostly silver surfaces, which shimmer with
satiny luster. Population: 57 in 67 (6 in 67+), 1 finer. CAC: 27 in
