1864 Dime, MS65+ Prooflike
Finest of Two Prooflike Coins at NGC
1864 10C F-102a, R.5, MS65+ Prooflike NGC. From a mintage of
11,000 coins, this high-end Prooflike Gem 1864 Seated dime is
conditionally rare. The strike is bold, and the untoned surfaces
show subtle field-device contrast with deep mirrors. NGC has
designated only two examples as Prooflike, including one MS64 and
this MS65+ (5/16). Even non-Prooflike Gems are rare.Coin Index Numbers: (Variety PCGS# 538202, Base PCGS# 4639)
