Description

1916-S 5C MS65 PCGS. Bright luster engulfs this Gem 1916-S nickel. The obverse has a bit of golden toning near the upper border, while the reverse deepens in color from light gold on top to sunset red near the exergue. Sharpness is lacking, as usual for this issue, but the luster, eye appeal, and relative lack of abrasions carry the grade. Like the plate coin in the Lange reference on the Buffalo nickel series, this piece features strong clash marks, with both the profile of the bison and parts of E PLURIBUS UNUM impressed on the obverse.(Registry values: N1793)
