Description

1857 Flying Eagle Cent, MS65
'Very Scarce' Snow-17

1857 1C MS65 NGC. Snow-17. Minor die doubling is apparent on the obverse legend. Rick Snow calls Snow-17 "a very scarce variety." The present Gem is possibly the finest certified example, since Snow lists the condition census as <63, 62, 58>. The unmarked pumpkin-gold surfaces display minor carbon on the lower obverse field. The tip of the eagle's tail and the tobacco leaf opposite show blending of impression. Certified in a circa-2000 holder.(Registry values: N2998)
