Exemplary Preservation

1917-S 5C MS65 PCGS. CAC. Light butter-gold, lilac, and tan-gold toning visits highly lustrous and mark-free surfaces. A tiny lamination at 4 o'clock on the reverse provides the sole apparent imperfection. The strike is good save for blending near the hair braid. Clashed beneath the Indian's jaw, and opposite near PLURIBUS. A conditionally challenging branch mint issue. Fewer than 10% of certified Gems have received a CAC seal. CAC: 11 in 65, 5 finer (5/18).(Registry values: N2998)
