Description

1918-D 5C MS65 NGC. The 1918-D nickel is most famous for the overdate variety, although the normal date version is itself scarce in Gem condition and rare finer. This piece displays glistening, champagne-toned mint luster and has no distracting abrasions. Slight strike weakness occurs as usual on the bison's shoulder and the hair above the Indian's braid. Census: 27 in 65 (1 in 65 ), 5 finer (5/18).(Registry values: N2998)
