Description

1854 Three Cent Silver, MS66
Delightful Variegated Toning

1854 3CS MS66 PCGS. Type Two three cent silvers were struck between 1854 and 1858. They exhibit two lines around the star, instead of no lines on earlier dates, and one line on later dates. The Type Two design is scarce in Mint State, relative to the Type One and Type Three varieties. This 1854 example is well struck and undisturbed. The variegated rose-red, apple-green, and magenta toning is thoroughly attractive. Population: 19 in 66 (3 in 66+), 2 finer (7/19).(Registry values: N2998)
