Description
1905 Gold Dollar, MS67
Lewis and Clark Exposition
Among Finest Certified
1905 G$1 Lewis and Clark MS67 PCGS. The Lewis and Clark gold
dollar is the only true double-headed U.S. coin design. Struck in
both 1904 and 1905, the initial mintage was substantial but most of
the production was returned to the Mint and melted. The net
distribution for the 1905 was 10,041 pieces, similar to the 1904,
but the 1905 is conditionally rarer in the MS66 and MS67 grades.
The present lemon-gold and lime-green Superb Gem is well struck
aside from the dentils between 7 and 11 o'clock on the Clark side.
The surfaces are pristine save for two tiny spots near the I and A
in LEWIS-CLARK. Population: 4 in 67, 0 finer (12/14).(Registry values: N10218)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# BYLG, PCGS# 7448, Greysheet# 10207)
