Description

1796 $1 Large Date, Small Letters, B-5, BB-65, R.2, VF25 PCGS. Ex: The Peh Family Collection. Bowers-Borckardt Die State IV. Charcoal-gray surfaces are set against light-silver features, creating a pleasing circulation cameo effect. A few tiny digs are noted to the left of the bow, but otherwise the surfaces are free from all but the most incidental signs of contact. This die marriage is easily attributed by the recut 6 in the date and the familiar die lump over the top of the I in AMERICA.
