Dutch Naval Victories and Expansion Beyond Europe

1631 Medal Dutch Naval Victories, Silver, Betts-33 -- Damage -- PCGS Genuine. XF Details. 50.5 mm, 2.7 mm thick, 47.3 gm. Medal turn. Pewter-gray coloration predominates, and a few scattered of contact marks on the Prince's face do not extend to the reverse. The obverse shows a lace-collar armored bust of Frederick Henry, Prince of Orange. The reverse portrays a Dutch lion overthrowing one of the Pillars of Hercules, a favorite Spanish imperial symbol, symbolizing extending Dutch boundaries beyond Europe.
