Description
Italian Colony. Vittorio Emanuele III 2-Piece Lot of Certified Assorted silver Specimen Prova Issues 1925-R PCGS,1) silver 5 Lire - SP65, KM-Pr12, Mont (R3), Prova di Stampa variety
2) silver 10 Lire - SP66, KM-Pr14, Mont-477 (R3), Prova di Stampa variety
A seemingly exceedingly scarce issues, these Prova di Stampa pieces appear at auction with greater infrequency than their Prova counterparts despite having a lesser rarity designation. Quite the visually engaging pair, featuring the regal, crowned bust of Vittorio Emanuele III and arms to the reverse, rendered precisely as engraver Attilio Motti intended. With only the errant grade defining handling wisps and general paucity of encapsulated examples, we cannot fathom what this attractive pair might fetch when crossing the auction block.
