Incredible Copper Pattern 1919 Twenty Dollars

Republic Yuan Shih-kai copper Pattern 20 Dollars Year 8 (1919) MS64 Brown NGC, Tientsin mint, KM-Pn61, Kann-1530x, cf. L&M-1029 (there, in gold), cf. WS-0058 (same). A remarkable artifact from one of China's rare ventures into gold coinage, this pattern was produced as part of Finance Minister Tsao Yu-lin's ambitious-but ultimately unsuccessful-effort to reintroduce the gold standard. Struck in copper as trial of the elusive 20 Dollar gold issue, this example is both intriguing and virtually immaculate, ranking seemingly as finest known of its kind. While the original gold issue is itself seldom encountered, these copper patterns were likely struck in extremely limited numbers, amplifying their significance for advanced collectors of Yuan Shih-kai-era coinage, as well as connoisseurs of early Chinese Patterns and off-metal strikings. The surfaces glow with a warm chestnut hue, accented by delicate touches of lighter red on the obverse, adding depth and visual appeal to this historically important piece.

令人贊嘆的民國八年貳拾圓銅樣幣

民國八年（1919）袁世凱像貳拾圓銅樣幣。MS64 Brown NGC。
天津造幣廠。這枚出類拔萃的珍品緣起一場中國史上千載難逢的金本位改革。然而當時曹汝霖重新引入金本位的雄心壯志最終計劃失敗，此樣幣即為其改革遺珍。此幣以銅質鑄造，是為了魅力十足的貳拾圓金幣作試鑄，設計精巧入微，外觀無懈可擊，評分為已知最佳者。正常的金幣本已鮮有一遇，而銅質樣幣更是有如鳳毛麟角，對於高階的袁大頭系列收藏家、早期中國樣幣收藏家和異質幣收藏家而言地位份外舉足輕重。此枚幣面綻放著溫潤的栗棕色澤，並以正面精巧悅目的縷縷淡紅加以點綴，令這枚本已深具歷史意義的珍品不論外觀和深度都更上一層樓。
