Scarce With Drapery Type

1840-O H10C Drapery AU55 NGC. CAC. Small O Mintmark. 1840 was a transitional year for Philadelphia and New Orleans Mint half dimes. The Drapery design modification was struck in smaller quantities at both coinage factories than the earlier No Drapery coins. This example has pleasing and fully natural silver-gray surfaces with peripheral antique-gold toning. Census: 5 in 55, 16 finer. CAC: 3 in 55, 8 finer (2/24).(Registry values: N1793)
