Pair of (ca. 1859) William Idler Copies of the 1792 Peter Getz Washington "Half Dollar." Two scarce and highly collectible brass copies of Peter Getz's 1792 Washington half dollar design, struck by coin dealer William Idler circa 1859. Washington President Obverse MS64 NGC. Baker-544B, M-PA-212, W-15930, R.6. The bright yellow surfaces are lustrous and the details are sharply struck. A small spot is noted in the right (facing) obverse field. Washington President Reverse MS64 NGC. Baker-544H, M-PA-215, W-15965, R.6. This lustrous Choice Mint State specimen has a few small flecks but there are no mentionable handling marks.Purchased from Empire Coin (8/31/1959).
