Spectacular Multicolor Toning
1867 10C Repunched Date, F-103, R.5, PR66★ NGC. CAC. The NGC
Star designation is awarded for superior eye appeal, and the
present high-grade specimen earns its Star with dramatic multicolor
patina. Orange-gold, rose-lilac, lavender, and jade-green are awash
across both sides. Boldly impressed save for moderate
incompleteness on the upper-left wreath. Just 625 proofs were
struck. Census: 14 in 66 (2 in 66★ ), 1 finer. CAC: 6 in 66,
