Red Gem 1855 Upright 5s Cent, N-4
1855 1C Upright 5s MS65 Red NGC. N-4, R.1. Grellman Die State a. A beautiful orange-red Gem with vibrant luster and a virtual absence of contact. The strike is sharp except on the stars. A shallow but fairly large strike-through (as coined) is above the N in ONE, and the portrait has a pair of minute flecks. Encapsulated in a prior generation, pre-hologram holder. Our EAC grade MS64. Census: 35 in 65 Red, 6 finer (7/12).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 226M, PCGS# 1909, Greysheet# 1182)
