Nostitz-Rieneck. Anton Johan Taler 1719-GFN XF40 NGC, Nuremberg mint, KM6, Dav-1191. Struck under the supervision of renowned mintmaster, Georg Friedrich Nürnberger, this issue circulated in the County of Rieneck (now in northwestern Bavaria), which was purchased by the House of Nostitz in 1673. Admitting the high-point wear, this example displays remarkable originality and a pleasing, natural surface tone throughout. Scarce in any condition, making this piece-one of only two on the NGC census-quite desirable.
