Description

German Colony. Wilhelm II gold 15 Rupien 1916-T MS63 PCGS, Tabora mint, KM16.2, J-728b. Arabesque below the T in "OSTAFRIKA" variety. A coveted German colonial type revered for its use of an elephant in the obverse imagery, a symbol commonly associated with the African continent. The crude-ish design features on display add to the appeal of the issue rather than detract, and a glossy top layer provides the necessary brilliance.
