The 'Little Orphan Annie'
1844 10C AU53 PCGS. The relatively low mintage of 72,500
pieces led to promotional efforts by one Frank C. Ross, who
nicknamed the 1844 Seated dime "Little Orphan Annie." Silver-gray
surfaces imbued with splashes of bluish-violet exhibit well defined
devices. Devoid of significant blemishes and housed in a green
