Description

1819 50C O-115, R.3, AU58 PCGS. The date is set widely on both the O-108 and O-115 varieties, but O-108 has a broadly recut 5 in 50C not seen on this O-115 die pair. A faint sheen of pale-gold toning exists over the brilliant-silver surfaces of this near-Mint example. The obverse stars are needle-sharp, while only a hint of wear is seen on the well-struck eagle at its brow. A scattering of light, wispy abrasions prevent a full Mint State designation.
